Amélie Bureau's first portrait

Baby Amélie Bureau came to the studio on Saturday morning with her Mummy and Daddy for her very first portrait sitting. Amelie was born on 9th March to Katherine and Sebastine who I photographed when they married in 2004. Sebastine's family and friends will be travelling over from France to join in the celebrations as Amélie is christened later this summer. It will be lovely to meet up with both families again, look out for more photographs of Amélie in August.

Another wedding photo makes front cover again!

As previously mentioned in one of last month's entries, the local North Devon Brides magazine is now out, and features one of my photographs from Pippa and Andrew's wedding which took place last summer on the front cover. Also inside are details of Tracey and Richard's wedding who were the first prize winners of the wedding competition featured in the Autumn edition. The wedding of Kelly and David held at the Sandy Cove Hotel in July last year appears in the Real Weddings section.

Helen & Robert sizzle in the spring sunshine

14th April 2007

Helen and Robert were praying for fine weather for their wedding on Saturday and they weren't disappointed; it was the hottest day so far this year with temperatures into the low 70's!

The wedding ceremony took place at Christchurch in Bear Street, followed by a reception at the Saunton Sands Hotel. Half way through the wedding breakfast the guests stopped to watch the Grand National then everyone continued to enjoy a very relaxed day in and around the grounds of the hotel.

Just before the start of the evening reception I took Helen and Robert down to the beach for some special photographs. As we arrived the mist started to roll in and provided me with a fantastic backdrop for some very different shots as you can see above, a real contrast to those I had taken earlier in the day.

Helen and Robert are spending their honeymoon in Florida along with their son Mark, let's hope that the weather is as good over there as it was here for their special day.

Easter Portraits

Over the Easter weekend I photographed two families and their children. I covered the wedding of Bradley and Kate in 2005 and they came into the studio with their young son Henry together with the rest of the family for a delightful photographic session.

The Merritt family visited North Devon over the
the Easter weekend and came in on Sunday morning
to be photographed together with the newest addition to the family.
It was lovely to meet them all for the first time and look forward to updating the family album again in the future.

Rugby in the mud!

This morning I went down to RMB Chivenor to photograph a group of Marines from 59 squadron. After the official shots were taken the boys decided to have a quick game of rugby in the mud.
I had to decline the offer to join in because of my old knee injury!

Jamie's 30th Birthday weekend

7th April 2007

Last weekend saw the celebration of Jamie Fox's 30th birthday. He celebrated the occasion in the company of his family and friends at Buckland House near Holsworthly, Devon.

The Saturday night was spent having drinks followed by a masked dinner and ball. A great time was had by all.

Easter wedding in the sun

7th April 2007

A busy Easter weekend started with the wedding of Angela and John at the Croyde Bay Holiday Village. The couple came down from London for the Easter break with their two girls for a very private and intimate ceremony which was witnessed by only Helen and myself.

After the ceremony I took the family down to the beach for some special pictures watched by both holidaymakers and locals alike.
An international surfing competition was taking place at the time and the happy couple even got a mention on the tannoy! As we left the beach a local resident came out of his house carrying a bottle of champagne which was a gift for Angela and John, a totally unexpected and lovely gesture on his part. On their return the family took the opportunity to enjoy the North Devon coast by booking a trip in a vintage Rolls Royce.

Weekend off!

Although I didn't have a wedding this weekend I was kept busy with other things. The ongoing task for this spring/summer is the complete redecoration of the outside of the house. I replaced the guttering etc. during February and now that the weather is better the painting has started. I am taking advantage of the school Easter holidays and getting our children involved as you can see!

I shot a delightful portrait of George on Friday evening, the baby son of
of a bride and groom who I photographed in 2003. As you can see
from the images, George appeared to enjoy his first time in front of the camera. What a handsome little chap he is too!
