Kate & Sean get married in true country style

26th May 2007

The wedding of Kate Grimmond and Sean Kellaway took place at the All Saints Church, North Molton at the weekend. The bride and groom left the church in style in a beautiful horse drawn carriage provided by Ben Ford Carriages. After the formal photographs were taken in and around the North Molton village square, we went to higher ground to take some shots in the surrounding countryside. On route back to The Sandy Cove Hotel we stopped in at the Kate and Sean's home to take some more informal photographs of the happy couple with their beloved pets. After the reception I took the bride and groom down to Combe Martin beach for some dramatic shots next to the sea before returning for speeches and dancing in the marquee.

Lobb Family Portrait

Kevin and Alison Lobb whose wedding I photographed some years ago came to the studio on Sunday morning for a family portrait. They were accompanied by their three children and Kevin's brother together with his family. It was a very relaxed session and enjoyed by everyone who attended.

Choir Girl gets married in her own Church

19th May 2007

Alice Ward and Jonathan Watts were married on Saturday at the Church of the Holy Cross, Crediton where Alice sang in the choir as a child. The couple live and work in London now but chose to bring both families together to the town where Alice grew up.

It was another first for us as the bride and groom choose Shobrooke Park as the venue for their wedding reception. It was the first time that Shobrooke had been used for such an occasion and the setting proved to be absolutely perfect!

A touch of American razamatazz comes to town!

12th May 2007

This weekend Katie and Andrew travelled in style at their wedding by means of a magnificent Cadillac originating from Tennesee, USA. The wedding service took place at St. Mary's Bideford despite the rather unsightly repair work that was underway on the outside of the church. Although the weather was very unsettled the bridal party and guests managed to avoid the showers as the formal photographs were taken. Afterwards, we made our way to Northam Burrows for some dramatic shots of Katie and Andrew with the Cadillac before heading back to the shelter of the Park Hotel for the wedding reception.

The Schofields get together at Stoodleigh!

5th May 2007

Louise Schofield (no relation!) and Stuart Horsley were married this weekend at the magnificent Stoodleigh Court, which is set in the heart of the Devon countryside. After the service which was held in the Great Hall, the guests relaxed with drinks in the extensive grounds. Whilst the Scots amongst the guests played football, the younger ones took part in more adventurous games such as hide & seek and tree climbing!

After the guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal followed by speeches and the cutting of the cake on the staircase of the Great Hall, everyone took to the floor and danced the night away!

A Bride on the Fiddle!

28th April 2007

Joanne and Paul were married at The Watersmeet Hotel, Woolacombe in Devon last Saturday and it was a truly musical affair. The bride herself played her fiddle before the ceremony to calm her nerves and there was a variation of other musical instruments played before the vows were exchanged. The weather was glorious once again and a great time was had by all.
