Broomhill Art Hotel was the setting for a very intimate wedding for Kirsty and Jim on Saturday. The couple travelled down to Devon from Worcestershire for the happy occasion and were joined by just ten of their closest family members. The bride looked absolutely stunning in a black dress with pink detailing and a fur shawl.

Local couple Annelise and Kevin married at the Barnstaple Hotel at the weekend. Despite the rather seasonal weather conditions I manged to take the bride and groom at the Rotary Gardens during a short dry spell after photographing the groups inside the hotel. Annelise was attended by four bridesmaids wearing stunning scarlet dresses and the couple's baby son who wore a matching scarlet bow tie.

Sunshine was the order of the day at Polhawn Fort near Torpoint last Wednesday as family and friends travelled to South Devon for the marriage of Natalie and David. The civil ceremony took place in the magnificent fort overlooking the sea with stunning views for miles around, a photographer's paradise. There were two extra special guests at the wedding - David's parent's dogs looking resplendent in their white bow ties. The couple together with close family members stayed at the Fort for a few days after the wedding as a mini honeymoon with a difference!

Bristol couple Alice and Samuel were joined by family and friends as they married at the Northcote Manor Hotel at the weekend. The weather stayed fine all day so everyone could make the most of the beautiful gardens and lake area before making their way back inside for the wedding breakfast and entertainment.

The sun shone for Michelle and Mark on Saturday as they as they married in a civil ceremony at the Fox & Hounds Hotel, Eggesford. Family and friends travelled from all over the country and America to join the couple as they tied the knot on a beautiful sunny autumn day. The American connection was particularly significant, as Mark proposed to Michelle in front of The White House! The bride wore a stunning ivory and scarlet wedding gown with a matching bouquet. Michelle and Mark are spending their honeymoon cruising around the Greek Islands.

Rain did not dampen the spirits of the guests at the wedding of local Crediton couple Rebecca and Ryan last weekend. As the bride arrived in a horse drawn carriage, locals gathered to capture the first glimpse of her before she entered the magnificent Church of the Holy Cross. After the service I photographed groups outside the church and I managed to take a few shots of the bride and groom in the horse and carriage, the heavens opened and the couple transferred to a vintage car for the long trip to The Sandy Cove Hotel. Unfortunately the weather conditions were too bad for me to take advantage of the stunning views but the hotel and marquee were beautifully decorated with the centre piece of each table piled high with sweets!

As the wet summer draws to a close, weddings continue right through to Christmas again this year. Despite the continuing gloomy news regarding the recession, bookings for 2009/10 are looking very good and over the past couple of weeks dates for next year have been snapped up on almost a daily basis. I am currently talking with a couple getting married at Saunton Sands next September who want a three day coverage. The groom wants photos surfing with his friends on the Friday, the next day it's the actual wedding and then the bride wants to 'trash the dress' in the sea on Sunday - sounds like great fun!

Lynton was the setting for the wedding of Helen and Craig on Saturday. Family and friends from various parts of the country joined the happy couple as they married in the local church, followed by a trip in the cable car down to the beautiful village of Lynmouth. The reception took place in a marquee at the Rock hotel which is situated right next to the sea giving everyone fantastic views on what turned out to be another beautiful sunny day. Helen and Craig are also honeymooning in Mexico, perhaps they will meet up with Katherine and Ben who got married the day before!

It was like a summers day on Friday as Katherine and Ben married at the Saunton Sands Hotel. After the civil ceremony the bridal party spilled onto the lawns overlooking the beach for group photographs followed by drinks until the main reception started a little later. One of the bridesmaids wore special 'Wonder Woman' underwear especially for the occasion! As the weather had been so lovely during the day I managed to capture some stunning sunset shots just before darkness fell at the end of a beautiful day. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Mexico.

Local Combe Martin couple Ann and Chris married at their local church at the weekend. Despite the fact that the horse and carriage could not get through the flooded roads and the bride was half an hour late, the rest of the day ran like clockwork! After the service, family and friends who had travelled from various parts of the country, made their way to the village hall for the reception which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion. Meanwhile I took Ann and Chris down to to the beach for some relaxed shots in and around the rocks just before the heavens opened once more!

Claire and Ian were blessed with a dry day as they married at the beautiful Tawstock Church at the weekend. Despite the groom being very nervous during the service the whole day ran smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves. I photographed the happy couple in and around the church before joining the rest of the guests at the Barnstaple Hotel for the reception.

Rain was the order of the day again this week as Fiona and Liam married at The Northcote Manor Hotel. Family, friends and lots of children travelled from Kent to join the celebrations which took place mainly inside the hotel due to the terrible weather conditions. Fiona desperately wanted some photographs of herself and Liam beside the lake and gardens so we went down to the bridge and despite the light rain took some romantic shots before the heavens opened once again!

The sun shone for local Winkleigh couple Nicola and Ian as they married on Friday. The stunning St. James' Parish Church at Bondleigh near North Tawton was the setting for the marriage ceremony, before the bride and groom travelled to their reception at the Fox & Hounds Hotel in a Morgan convertible car. I took Nicola and Ian to the nearby Eggesford woods to shoot some relaxed shots before returning to the hotel to continue the celebrations.

Frithelstock Church was the setting for the marriage of Sam and Vicki on Saturday and despite torrential rain all day a wonderful time was had by all. All photographs of the bride with her parents and bridesmaids were taken at Vicki's parents home before the service. Special pink umbrellas had been bought especially for the occasion and were put into good use all day long! Group photos were taken inside the church before moving on to the reception venue, a beautifully decorated marquee inside Langtree Village Hall. Just before we left for the reception we manged to capture a few shots around the Priory ruins near the church, the only photographs to be taken outside all day.
