Laura & Mark marry on Valentine's day!

Saturday 24th February 2009

Valentine's Day was very special for Laura and Mark this year as it also became their wedding day. Park Hotel was the venue for entire wedding but unfortunately some family members couldn't make it down from Scotland due to the snow. I took the happy couple to the Rotary Gardens after the ceremony and later in the evening we went to Saunton beach for some dramatic shots near the water's edge.

A Christmas wedding for Sarah & Mark

Monday 22nd December 2008

The Horn of Plenty near Tavistock was the venue for the marriage of Sarah and Mark just before Christmas. The couple's families and closest friends joined the celebrations at an
intimate gathering late on Monday afternoon. The colour theme was Christmas reds and greens all meticulously arranged by the bride on the morning of the wedding. Although it was dark by the end of the ceremony Sarah and Mark had especially requested nighttime photographs so that's exactly what what we did! The couple will be spending their honeymoon on safari in Africa later in the year.

Sarah & Carlos marry by candle light

Saturday 20th December 2008

Tawstock Church was the setting for the marriage of local girl Sarah and her Portuguese sweetheart Carlos at an intimate candle lit service just before Christmas. There were only nine guests present as the happy couple tied the knot late on Saturday afternoon. The wedding had to be delayed until 5.30pm (just in the nick of time according to church laws) as the groom's brother couldn't get an earlier flight into the country from Portugal. Special lanterns were let off into the night sky at the end of the service before mulled wine was served to the guests.

A wedding at Broomhill Art Hotel

Saturday 29th November

Broomhill Art Hotel was the setting for a very intimate wedding for Kirsty and Jim on Saturday. The couple travelled down to Devon from Worcestershire for the happy occasion and were joined by just ten of their closest family members. The bride looked absolutely stunning in a black dress with pink detailing and a fur shawl.

A winter wedding for Stephanie & Scott

Friday 28th November 2008

The Guild Hall in the centre of Barnstaple was the setting for the marriage of local Stephanie to her sweetheart Scott on Friday afternoon. After photographing the bride and groom and their guests in the grand surroundings of the magnificent old building I whisked the couple off to some nearby gardens for some romantic shots despite the bitterly cold weather. They then rejoined the rest of their guests at the Fortescue Hotel for the wedding reception followed later by a party for more friends and family.

Annelise & Kevin marry at the Barnstaple Hotel

Saturday 22nd November 2008

Local couple Annelise and Kevin married at the Barnstaple Hotel at the weekend. Despite the rather seasonal weather conditions I manged to take the bride and groom at the Rotary Gardens during a short dry spell after photographing the groups inside the hotel. Annelise was attended by four bridesmaids wearing stunning scarlet dresses and the couple's baby son who wore a matching scarlet bow tie.

Sunshine for Natalie & David at Polhawn Fort

Wednesday 19th November 2008

Sunshine was the order of the day at Polhawn Fort near Torpoint last Wednesday as family and friends travelled to South Devon for the marriage of Natalie and David. The civil ceremony took place in the magnificent fort overlooking the sea with stunning views for miles around, a photographer's paradise. There were two extra special guests at the wedding - David's parent's dogs looking resplendent in their white bow ties. The couple together with close family members stayed at the Fort for a few days after the wedding as a mini honeymoon with a difference!
